[Activity] Special Lecture: Kang, Sung Yong (31 May)

□ Institute of Indian Studies, Humanities Korea Plus Project Team (HK+) at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) hosted a special lecture by Professor Kang, Sung Yong from Center for South Asian Studies at Seoul National University on May 31st (Mon.). The title of the lecture was “India’s Vaccine Diplomacy to Counter China”.
□ India’s total coronavirus caseload broke the 9 million mark in November 2020, taking a heavy toll on all over India. In particular, the migrant workers have faced difficulties including return migration and threats to survival due to the pandemic and lockdown. To solve the problem, different economic agents involved in economy should agree on and set a consistent goal.
□ Professor Kang, Sung Yong graduated from Seoul National University and earned his master’s degree and Ph.D. in Indian Studies at University of Hamburg. He taught at the Seoul National University and Korea University and worked as a Research Associate at the University of Vienna. He has been a assistant professor since 2010 and work as a director of Center for South Asian Studies at Seoul National University.
