This book explores some emerging and essential aspects of the “Great Transition in India,” taking into account certain interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives in the humanities. In doing so, it seeks to lay a valuable foundation that can facilitate a well-rounded understanding of India and initiate a new chapter of possibilities in Indian and South Asian studies. With this focus in mind, it includes chapters from various disciplines, like history, philosophy, religion, language, etc. The authors have invited some globally eminent names from different academic persuasions to contribute their knowledge, wisdom, and research of the subject matter. The book provides new perspectives on India and South Asia, combining various theories and empirical analyses, integrating a broad range of disciplines throughout the chapters with the central theme of the “Great Transition in Indian Humanities.”
