I hope you are all doing well at a time when sudden changes have become the new normal. Although it is a little later than usual, the Korean Society for Indian Studies, Inc., will be holding its 48th Regular Conference, with Sun Moon University and the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Research Project HUFS.
For the first time in the history of our Society, our conference will be held online. We are very disappointed that we cannot meet with all of you in person, but we had to make a difficult decision to reduce any risks of spreading the Covid-19 disease.
Our Conference, titled “Religion and Politics in a Transitional Era for South Asia”, is composed of a variety of presentations on Tantric Jainism to modern Buddhism, the gender consciousness of women members in the Assembly, nuclear policies, the Reservation Policy, and yoga. I thank our members for presenting their work, and our officers for preparing the conference, and wish that everyone interested in South Asia and Indology may come together online to enjoy the academic discussion of this conference.
